Catholic University of La Plata began operations in 1967. It was founded by his S.E.R. the Archbishop of La Plata, Monsignor Dr. Antonio Jose Plaza on March 7, 1964. Its organization is based on freedom of teaching and learning guaranteed by the Constitution and the legislation regulating higher education and has full recognition as a University by National Executive Decree No. 2949/71.
