The Bank through its branches and non-banking subsidiaries provides a diverse range of financial services and products in Bangladesh and in certain international markets.
The Bank started its Islamic Banking operation through its Dilkusha Islami Banking Branch, Dhaka on December 23, 2004.
The Bank is one of the first generation private commercial banks (PCBs) incorporated in Bangladesh on 1 December, 1981 as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1913, subsequently replaced by the Companies Act 1994, and is governed by the Banking Companies Act, 1991.
The Bank went for public issue of its shares on 28 December, 1983 and its shares are listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.
Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) has approved the proposed name change of the Company. Accordingly, the name of the Company will be AB Bank PLC. instead of AB Bank Limited with effect from December 05, 2023. Other things (except name) will remain unchanged.
