The Bank is engaged in mobilizing deposits, providing investment facilities, discounting bills, conducting money transfer, foreign exchange transactions and providing services i.e. issuing guarantees, safe keeping, acceptances and letters of credit, etc.
The Bank is incorporated in Bangladesh on 2 June, 1999 as a Banking Company under the Companies Act, 1994. The Bank converted its banking operation into Islamic Banking based on Islamic Shari a from traditional banking operation on July 01, 2004 after obtaining approval from Bangladesh Bank.
The Bank went for public issue of shares in the year 2004. The Bank was listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange on September 26, 2004.
