Mercantile Bank Limited (Bangladesh)

The Bank was incorporated in Bangladesh as a Public Limited Company with limited liability under the Bank Companies Act, 1991 on May 20, 1999 and commenced its operation on June 2, 1999.
The Company was listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on February 16, 2004 and February 26, 2004 respectively.
The Company was engaged as a new commercial bank to provide efficient banking services and to contribute in the socio-economic development of the country. The Bank provides a broad range of financial services to its customers and corporate clients.
The core activities of the Bank are to provide all kinds of commercial banking services including Deposits Mobilization, Corporate Banking, SME and Consumer Businesses, Discounting Bills, Foreign Exchange Business, Off Shore Banking, Treasury Function, Card Business, Mobile Banking (MyCash), Internet Banking, Locker Service, etc. MBL caters card services to its customers by VISA Dual Prepaid Card, VISA Dual Hajj Card, Credit Card, Debit Card and International/Dual Cards with various up-to-date facilities.
The company has two subsidiaries namely (Mercantile Bank Securities Ltd) (MBSL) and (Mercantile Exchange House
(UK) Limited).
1. MBSL formed on June 27, 2010 to deal with stock dealing and broking. MBSL started its commercial operation on September 14, 2011 through obtaining stock dealer and broker license from concerned authorities.
2. Mercantile Exchange House (UK) Limited, another subsidiary company of MBL incorporated as private limited company on December 01, 2010. It commenced its business operation on December 06, 2011.
Name changed from Mercantile Bank Limited to Mercantile Bank PLC on 27 August 2023.
