The Bank was engaged in Savings Deposit, Current Deposit, Short Notice Deposit, Time Deposit, DPS, Deposit Pension Scheme, Festival Deposit, Call Deposit, one shop services, computerized banking services, Demand Draft, Pay Order, Telegraphic Transfer, Mail Transfer, Call Deposit, Transfer of Fund on standing instruction arrangement, utility services, credit facilities, international banking and foreign remittance.
It was constituted with the merger of 3 (three) erstwhile commercial banks; i.e. Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd., Australasia Bank Ltd. and Standard Bank Ltd. operated in Pakistan on March 26, 1972 under the Bangladesh Banks (Nationalization) Order of 1972 (P.O. No. 26 of 1972), with all their assets, benefits, rights, powers, authorities, privileges, liabilities, borrowings and obligations.
It was incorporated on December 14, 1986. The Bank was quoted on Dhaka Stock Exchange on October 19, 1987 and on October 10, 1995.
