Ameta Holding, founded in 1995, is one of the leading producers of food products in Bulgaria. The company's activities include production of poultry, fodder, trade in grain and pig breeding.
In 1998, an 80% stake of Ameta Holding was purchased by the Bulgarian-American Enterprise Fund (BAEF) - a private U.S. corporation established in 1991 by the U.S. Congress. In 2009, London-based Bulgarian American Foods Limited acquired a 82% stake in the company and in the beginning of 2010 it increased its ownership to 88%.
The company exports part of its production to Romania, Greece, Macedonia, Cyprus, France and the United Kingdom. Around 30% of the company`s production is purposed for export. It is a local supplier for Kaufland, CBA, Billa, Piccadily, T-market, Fantastico and Metro. The company delivers poultry for several restaurants and fast food chains in Bulgaria such as Happy Bar&Grill and KFC.
