Balkankar-Zarya AD, set up as a separate entity in June 1996, was one of the seven subsidiaries of Bulgaria's forklift truck producer Balkancar Holding. The company, based in the central town of Pavlikeni, is active in production, maintenance, repair and trade in wheels and other equipment mostly for forklifts.
In December 2006, local firm K.B.K. Invest acquired 86.98% of the listed equipment maker on the local stock exchange.
