Bella Food Industry, which was established in 1992, is one of the leading companies in Bulgaria's food manufacturing sector. The firm, headquartered in Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv, is primarily engaged in the production of a variety of meat and food products, and the marketing of those products throughout the country. The company operates in several business segments: non-perishable and perishable sausages, rolled pastry, puff pastry and margarines.
As of end-2006, Bella claimed 65% stake on the country's frankfurters market with its brands Sachi, Leki and Narodni, 33% of the margarine market with Bella, Tommi and Flora brands, 95% of Bulgaria's puff pastry market and 80% of the rolled pastry market.
In July 2006, Bulgaria's competition regulator allowed Bella Bulgaria to acquire a majority stake in local meat products manufacturer Solaris - AS for an undisclosed sum. June, 2008 – officials of Bella Bulgaria announced the opening of company’s first establishments of the new fast food chain Lakis. Lakis is a franchised chain of small banitsa-shops, offering more than 20 different types of products.
Bella Bulgaria offers more than 200 products manufactured in 14 companies. It operates more than 20 offices and Bulgaria and also units in Romania and Greece. Bella exports its production to Germany, Spain, Cyprus, the USA, Australia, the UK and others.
