Insurance Company EIG Re EAD is a general insurance company operating in the Republic of Bulgaria. The company primarily engages in reinsurance activities. EIG Re provides coverage for various lines of property, marine, and engineering insurance, with an individualized approach for each risk. In 2015, Euroins Insurance Group AD acquired a majority stake in HDI Insurance AD, and the company became part of the group, changing its name to Insurance Company EIG Re EAD. Euroins Insurance Group AD (EIG) is one of the largest independent insurance groups in Central and Southeastern Europe. The company focuses on offering a full range of insurance products in the areas of general, health, and life insurance. Based in Sofia, the group operates in various European countries, with subsidiary insurance companies in Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine. Insurance Company EIG Re EAD is a subsidiary of Eurohold Bulgaria AD, a leading public company whose shares are traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) and the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). Eurohold Bulgaria AD operates in Central and Southeastern Europe, focusing on non-banking financial services and asset management. In 2021, Insurance Company EIG Re EAD was awarded "Most Dynamically Developing Insurance Company" for 2020 in the traditional competition "Best Insurance Company of the Year" organized by the Higher School of Insurance and Finance, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers, the "Prof. Dr. Veleslav Gavriyski" Foundation, and the Bulgarian Association of Supplementary Pension Insurance Companies.
