Fairplay International AD (Bulgaria)

FairPlay International (FPI) was found in 1993. The company was set up as a building and investment enterprise and through the years it has expanded its main activities. Nowadays FPI Group combines several related companies with similar activities in common industries – FairPlay Constructions, FairPlay Properties Management, FairPlay Properties and FairPlay Residential Properties, which are listed on the official market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, FairPlay Commercial, FairPlay International Travel and Tourism, FairPlay International Hotels & Resorts and FairPlay Agrarian Fund.
The investment activity of the company is directed into real estate properties; hotels and holiday estates; trade areas and public buildings; agricultural lands.
The construction process of the first project of FPI was completed in 1996 and is located in Sofia. Since then the company has been building residential plots, business and trade centers and hotels all over the territory of the capital Sofia.
In 2000 the company started a new investment policy in construction of apartment houses – a small complex of serviced apartments. This strategy is a result of the raised demand of one-family flats for a long-term rent, mainly by foreign citizens.
In 2003 FPI acquired 100% of Touristengineering. FPI bought all the 67573 shares on a public auction. The bidding started at the price of BGN 11000 and the company was the only bidder.
In 2004 FPI opened its first 4-star hotel in Sofia’s downtown – “Crystal Palace” Boutique Hotel.
In 2005 the company opened FPI Business center, situated on 6,000 sq. m in the capital Sofia. The offices are rented by 8 foreign companies such as Bosch, Tikshoov, TBI, Mercator, and 21 FPI related firms.
In 2006 the 5-star “Arena di Serdica” Residence Hotel was opened. FPI Hotels & Resorts, which is a trademark of FPI Properties Management, invested EUR 8 million in building the new hotel. FPI Properties Management was established in 2006 after the expansion of FairPlay International and manages three business hotels and two apartment houses in Sofia, and also holiday estates in Sozopol and Bansko.
In 2007 FPI invested basically in building of mall stores in Plovdiv and Vidin, industrial park in Pleven and logistic center with additional store area in Varna – Logistics Park Varna. The future plans of the company include expanding of the holiday camp “Santa Marina” in Sozopol.
As of end-2009, the FPI investments in other companies are BGN 85,680 million.
