Groupama Life Insurance EAD was set up in April 2004 under the DSK Garancia Life name. Shareholders of the firm were Hungary’s OTP Garancia, a unit of the Hungarian OTP Bank, DSK Bank's owner, (74%) and DSK Bank (26%). July 2004, the insurer obtained a local operational licence. In June 2008, OTP sold its subsidiaries DSK Garancia and DSK Garancia Life to France’s insurance company Groupama International. Groupama operates offices in the towns of Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa and Blagoevgrad.
