Cablecommerce was founded in 1963 and is one of the leading Bulgarian traders with cables, conductors, electrical materials and apparatuses. The company, based in the Black Sea port of Burgas, supplies over 4,000 companies all over the country. Cablecommerce offers over 2000 different types of cable products and over 5000 types of equipment and electrical materials, stored in a warehouse network that includes six towns – Bourgas, Sofia, Plovdiv, Sevlievo, Rousse and Pleven. It is ISO 9001 certified since 1999.
In August 1995, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold 75% of Cablecommerce to locally-registered enterprise Damyan Balabanov – Kaprikornus for USD 2.97 million. The buyer pledged to invest USD 573,360 in the company in a three-year period. In April 2003, the sell-off agency sold another 19.93% of the company equity to the majority owner for USD 461,400.
Since the end of 1999 on the territory of Cablecommerce – Bourgas base, a public store under customs’ control is operating and it is equal in infrastructure, equipment and servicing to duty free zone Bourgas.
Cablecommerce is also a producer of electrical power of environmentally-friendly and restorable sources. In July 2002, Cablecommerce purchased the Cherni Osam hydropower plant for USD 2.34 million.
Since March 2005 Cablecomerce’s facility in Sevlievo is manufacturing copper wire-rod – highly conductive cupric core with low content of oxygen by the technology of the leading company Rautomead International. The very same year Cablecommerce joined top 100 companies in Bulgaria by revenue with BGN 58 787 000, according to Index Active Ranking.
