Burgas Dockyards, which was established in 1974, spans over a total area of 49,000 square metres.
It has a 4,500 tonnes floating dock and a quay wall with crane way and two cranes.
The company also operates production halls, electrical power transformer station, compressor and acetylene stations, warehouse for materials and equipment and an outdoor metal storage.
Since 2002, some 70% of the dockyard clients are foreign-registered vessels from Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Syria, Germany and others.
In July 1998, local company Privat Engineering, part of local industrial holding company Industrial Holding Bulgaria, bought 25% in the dockyard for USD 550,000.
The holding, set up as a privatisation fund in 1996, had already acquired over 21% in the dockyards under Bulgaria's voucher privatisation programme.
