Bulgarian hydraulic equipment maker M+S Hydraulic, which was established in 1963, manufactures hydraulic motors, steering units, valves, brakes and accessories. It is also engaged in the trade and repair of hydraulic products and systems. The company is based in the central town of Kazanlak. Exports accounts for around 80% of M+S Hydraulic's annual sales.
A 67% stake in the company was offered for mass sell-off under the country's voucher privatisation programme in 1996-97. In November 1998, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold another 24% of the company equity to its management-employee buyout team for USD 728,255. The buyer - M+S 97 - paid 10% of the price on the day of signing of the contract and pledged to cover the remainder in nine equal annual instalments over the next 10 years which include one year grace.
