Metropoliten EAD is a company owned by the Sofia Municipality that operates the metro railway lines in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its main purpose is to provide fast and safe transportation for passengers. The construction of the metro is based on a Technical and Economic Report, approved by the Council of Ministers and several other decisions and resolutions by the Council of Ministers and the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as various decisions by individual ministries and the Sofia Municipal Council. To implement the project, a company called "Metropoliten" EAD was established for investment activities related to the design, construction, and operation of the metro sections for passenger transportation.
