Rositsa, which was established in 1960, is one of the leading knitwear manufacturers in Bulgaria.
The company, based in the central town of Sevlievo, has an annual production of 800,000 garments in three basic categories - men's, lady's and children's knitwear.
It focuses on production of knit jumpers, pullovers, blouses, sleeveless, cardigans and skirts.
Rositsa exports some 98% of its output to EU member states with Germany accounting for 60% of the exports in 2004.
In December 1996, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold 80% of the clothing company for USD 2.0 million to the Rositsa -96 management-employee buyout company.
The buyer had to pay 10% of the price in cash on the day of the contract signing and the remaining 90% over the next ten years in nine equal annual instalments with a one-year grace period.
The buyout company also pledged to invest USD 237,737 in the firm over the next five years.
