Tandem-V, which was established in 1993, is one of the leading providers of pork and veal products in Bulgaria, producing products for the retail, wholesale and foodservice markets.
It produces a wide variety of processed meats, including smoked and boiled hams, bacon, sausage, frankfurters, deli and luncheon meats, specialty products, such as pepperoni, dry meat products, and ready-to-eat, prepared foods such as pre-cooked entrees and pre-cooked bacon and sausage.
The company markets its processed meat products under labels that include Lionska, Burgas, Hamburg, Kamchia, etc.
In September 2002, Tandem-V, which was launched as a private sandwich-making enterprise, opened a EUR 4.0 million meat processing plant in the capital Sofia.
The facility has a daily output capacity of 30 tonnes of meat products.
In March 2007, Tandem’s entire production cycle has been cleared for export to the European Union (EU).
In September 2007 the company invested EUR 2.0 million in an organic beef breeding farm near Damyanovo in northern Bulgaria. The farm stands on 110 hectares of land high in the Balkan mountain range.
The project was implemented by Tandem’s subsidiary Biologica. The company expects to start offering the farm’s output on the domestic market by 2009.
In January 2008, Tandem launched a new range of meat products, containing below 3.0% of fat. The range includes smoked and boiled ham of veal, turkey and pork.
