Cooperativa "San Mateo" Ltda. was founded in the city of Vallegrande on November 20, 1962. On May 18, 2000, the Superintendency of Banks and Financial Entities granted it the "Operating License" to be audited and it was at the same time recognized as "Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito de Vínculo Abierto". Since that year, the money of the savers, deposited in Savings and Deposits for Fixed Term, is guaranteed with the Legal Settlement constituted by the Cooperative in the Central Bank of Bolivia. In 2004, an agency was opened in the city of Mairana and in 2006, another one in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The purpose of the Cooperative is to carry out financial savings and credit activities.
