Cooperativa de Servicios de Telecomunicaciones Tarija Ltda., located in Tarija, is a telecommunications company that has been operating since April 2, 1984. Originally known as Empresa de Teléfonos Automáticos de Tarija (ETAT), it later became Cooperativa de Servicios Telefónicos Tarija Ltda. In 1999, the company diversified its services and became known as Cooperativa de Servicios de Telecomunicaciones Tarija Ltda. (COSETT Ltda.). When COSETT became a cooperative, it had 2,000 telephone lines. Over the years, the company has grown and currently has around 25,600 telephone lines, with 16,000 belonging to members and the rest being twin, triplet, and rental lines. The company started with 36 employees in 1984 and now employs 165 people due to the expansion and diversification of its services. COSETT provides telecommunications services not only in the Cercado province but also in other provinces such as Méndez, Avilés, Arce, and O'Connor. These services include telephone, internet, and cable television. COSETT was the first company to offer cable television in the Cercado province. Since 1999, COSETT has been offering internet and cable television services in addition to telephone services.
