Ingenio Sucroalcoholero Aguai S.A. is a Bolivian company located in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. It was incorporated several decades ago and is primarily involved in the transformation and industrialization of sugarcane. The company's main products and services include sugar, alcohol, and electricity derived from sugarcane. They are considered the most efficient sugar mill in Bolivia in terms of sugarcane sucrose utilization and energy efficiency. Aguai processes sugarcane from approximately 185 producers within a 17 km radius of the mill, covering around 30,000 hectares. The majority of the harvest is done through mechanized cutting, and all sugarcane is received fresh, without accepting the burning of crops by farmers. The company contributes to the local economy by generating employment opportunities, with 70% of its workers coming from neighboring communities.
