Lloyd Aereo Boliviano S.A. began operations on September 14, 1925. It was privatized in 1995, returning to the hands of Bolivia in 2001. Due to financial problems, the government decided to close the company and transfer most of the assets to the new Bolivian Airlines. Since then Lloyd is dedicated to conducting charter flights on behalf of other companies.
