The ContiTech division is one of the leading suppliers of technical rubber products and is a specialist for plastics technology. It develops and produces functional parts, components, and systems for machine and plant engineering, mining, the automotive industry and other important industries. Continental Do Brasil Produtos Automotivos Ltda. is a subsidiary of ContiTech AG, Hanover, Germany. Founded in 1999, it has a workforce of around 700. The company has two plants in the south of Brazil, one in Ponta Grossa in the state of Paraná and a further one in Várzea Paulista in the state of São Paulo. The company also has a sales office in the city of Itapevi. At the site in Ponta Grossa, four ContiTech business units produce goods for the automotive industry and many other industries. Fluid Technology produces hoses, the Power Transmission Group produces drive belts, Vibration Control produces engine mount systems and the Conveyor Belt Group produces conveyor belts. In Varzea Paulista, the Vibration Control business unit operates a second plant for the production of engine mount systems.
