On 25th October 1985, Emirates started their first routes out of Dubai with just two aircraft. Currently the company has one of the most modern fleets and more than 400 awards worldwide. Emirates is one of the two main divisions of the Emirates Group. The other is the Dnata, one of the largest travel organizations in the Middle East. In fiscal year 2010/2011, Emirates carried 31.4 million passengers and 1.8 million of tons of cargo.
