Ultrafertil was created by the federal government in 1965 by a partnership between Philips /PS Petroleum, Grupo Ultra and international financial funds. In May 1974, Petrobras acquired control until its sale in June 1993 to Fosfertil. With significant participation in the national nitrogenous and phosphate fertilizers segments, it operates industrial complex in Sao Paulo, Parana, Goias and Minas Gerais, and a marine terminal on the Brazilian coast.
