Sechaba Brewery Holdings Limited (Sechaba) is an investment holding company with a 60% interest in both Botswana Breweries (Pty) Limited (BBL) and Kgalagadi Breweries (Pty) Limited (KBL). The balance of the shares (40%), which have double voting rights, are held by SABMiller Africa. The Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) set up the original trust company as a listed vehicle through which citizens could invest in large profitable but unlisted companies. In 1997, the company changed its name to Sechaba Brewery Holdings Limited and embarked on the restructuring and sale of all non beverages interests. Employing 1040 people, the two companies are represented throughout the country
