Buses Metropolitana S.A. (Chile)

Buses Metropolitana S.A. is a company located in Santiago, Chile. It was created to participate in the bidding process for the new transportation system that began operating in 2007. The company has extensive experience in the capital's transportation and operates Business Unit 5. Additional services, such as J, were later added, and new services were assigned to its operation between 2019 and 2020. Metbus has made significant investments in fleet renewal and terminal improvement. In 2018 and 2019, the company made an international leap by incorporating 285 electric buses, establishing itself as a global leader in electromobility. As of June 2020, the company already has 435 electric buses in operation. Metbus operates with 1,499 buses, 18 terminals, and 4,500 employees who cover 72 routes throughout the city. The company provides services in various municipalities, including Maipú, Pudahuel, Cerro Navia, Lo Prado, Estación Central, Quinta Normal, Santiago, Providencia, Vitacura, Las Condes, La Reina, Ñuñoa, Macul, Lo Barnechea, Peñalolén, and since January 2019, Renca, Cerrillos, Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Lo Espejo, La Cisterna, La Granja, San Ramón, and La Florida.
