Fundación Chile, founded in 1976 as a public-private partnership between the Government of Chile and ITT Corporation (now partnered with BHP Billiton – Minera Escondida), is a non-profit innovation and development organization headquartered in Santiago, Chile. Its mission is to drive Chile’s transformation toward sustainable development by addressing complex national challenges through high-impact innovations, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and human capital development. Fundación Chile operates across diverse sectors including aquaculture, agribusiness, solar energy, water management, education, digitalization, and venture capital, and has been instrumental in launching Latin America’s first venture capital funds.
