Lianhua Supermarket Holdings Company Limited is a chain retail supermarket company based in Hong Kong. It was established in 1991 and has since become one of the leading companies in the fast-moving consumer goods retail industry in China. As of December 31, 2010, Lianhua Supermarket and its subsidiaries had a total of 5,172 stores across 19 provinces and municipalities in China. The company went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 27, 2003, making it the first Chinese retail chain supermarket company to be listed on the exchange. Lianhua Supermarket operates three main retail formats, including large-scale comprehensive supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores, under the brands "Century Lianhua," "Lianhua Supermarket," "Hualian Supermarket," and "Kuaike Convenience." In recent years, Lianhua Supermarket, Hualian Supermarket, and Kuaike Convenience have been recognized as one of the "China Excellent Franchise Brands" by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association.
