The company was formerly known as Wafangdian Bearing Factory, which was founded in 1938. It developed from the original Japan NTN Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In 1958, it changed its name to Wafangdian Bearing Factory, and it has been in use until the establishment of Wafangdian Bearing Group Co., Ltd. ZWZ Group is the birthplace of China's bearing industry, was China's first manufacturer of bearings and it is also China's largest bearing manufacturer. In 1995, it became one of the Ten Outstanding enterprises of "China Machinery". On March 25, 1997, it was listed at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
