It was established in 1931 as the Red China News Agency and later changed its name to Xinhua News Agency in 1937. Xinhua News Agency is responsible for centralized and unified release of authoritative news from the Chinese Communist Party and the government. It has 31 branch offices, 10 support offices, and 182 overseas offices, including 7 main branch offices. Xinhua News Agency has a global news information collection network and a multi-language, multi-media, multi-channel, multi-level, and multi-functional news communication system. It provides media products such as text, images, charts, audio, and video to over 8,000 news organizations worldwide.
