The company is a cooperative society of solidarity economy, non-profit, social interest and limited liability. The cooperative sells the agricultural and coffee products of its associates. The idea of founding a cooperative was born from the need of the coffee growers to unite and organize the coffee market and avoid speculation, this idea was supported by the Departmental Committee of Coffee Growers of Antioquia who became a partner of the cooperative by contributing with capital for their functioning. Currently, the Cooperativa de Caficultores de Salgar has as its main domicile the municipality of Salgar in the department of Antioquia. It covers the district of Altamira and the municipalities of Anza, Concordia, Betulia, Caicedo, Salgar and Urrao.
