The Urban Development Institute (IDU) Bogotá is a public establishment with legal personality, administrative autonomy and own patrimony, charged with executing major urban infrastructure works in Bogotá: road network construction and maintenance, public-space interventions, large-scale works such as bridges, interchanges, tram and mass-transit trunk infrastructure (including construction and maintenance of mass-transit corridors, cycleways, urban rehabilitations). Geographic scope and reach: limited to the capital district (Bogotá). Key assets: institutional capacity for urban engineering works, project portfolio (vías principales, troncales, puentes, redes viales), technical staff and administrative structure, public-space management authority. Strategic focus and positioning: deliver and maintain urban infrastructure to support mobility, public space, urban renewal and growth of Bogotá; oversee major transit and infrastructure projects; integrate urban planning, mobility and public-space policies under municipal mandates.
