Transgas (Prague, Czech Republic), natural gas importer and seller. Transgas will be transformed from a state-owned company to a joint-stock company prior to its privatisation. The firm's sole shareholder is the National Property Fund of the Czech Republic, which is preparing its privatization as a whole with state stakes in eight regional distribution gas firms. The Czech government expects proceeds of CZK 80-100bn from the privatization of the gas sector. Gas firms Wintershall, Ruhrgas (both Germany), Gaz de France (France) and Snam (Italy) are seen as leading candidates to buy.
