Komercni banka (KB), one of the leading banks in the Czech Republic and one of the largest commercial banks in CEE. KB was formed from the corporate lending department of Czechoslovakia's monopoly bank, established in 1990. KB was established as a joint-stock company in 1992 with 100% state stake. By the end of June 2001 the government of the Czech Republic approved to sell 60% of shares held by the National Property Fund to the strategic investor - French Societe Generale for CZK 40.18 bn (USD 1.02 bn, EUR 1.186 bn or CZK 1,762 per share). KB provides a complete range of financial services to both corporate and retail clients, branch network of more than 300 outlets covers entire country. Shares of KB are heavily traded on the main market of the Prague Stock Exchange and its GDR´s are regularly traded on the London Stock Exchange.
