Synthesia A.S. is a company located in Pardubice. It is divided into four Strategic Business Units (SBU): Pigments and Dyes, Nitrocellulose, Organic Chemistry, and Energy. Each SBU manages a part of Synthesia's product portfolio. The Pigments and Dyes SBU supplies pigments for coloring plastics, fibers, coatings, and printing inks. They also offer high-quality dyes for coloring natural and synthetic textile materials, as well as leather, fur, paper, wood, and other materials. The Nitrocellulose SBU produces industrial nitrocellulose derivatives used in coatings and paints, as well as energetic nitrocellulose for the production of gunpowder and industrial explosives. They also manufacture inorganic acids and salts for internal use and external customers, as well as oxycellulose for surgical applications. The Organic Chemistry SBU is the only European manufacturer of vitamin D2 and offers effective substances for herbicide production. They also provide customer synthesis services based on individual requirements, such as phosgenation, hydrogenation, and nitration. Additionally, they produce pharmaceutical intermediates for the production of X-ray contrast agents. The Energy SBU generates and distributes electricity and steam for all production units of Synthesia and other entities within the company's premises.
