The Military Technical Institute (VTU s.p.) is a Czech state-owned enterprise established by the Ministry of Defence to maintain and develop strategic national know-how in defence and security research, development, and specialized technical services. The institute carries out R&D, prototyping, modernization support, and expert services across a wide range of defence technologies, including armament and ammunition, ground vehicles and military equipment, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft onboard and aerodrome support equipment, communications and radiotechnical systems, simulators, and associated testing, verification, and certification procedures. It delivers projects and services for domestic and international customers, combining applied research capabilities with testing infrastructure and specialized competencies supporting defence readiness and security applications.
