Cerro Alto Forestal S.A. (HIGHFOREST), also known as Ignaciana S.A., is a teak plantation regulated by the company Bosques de Teca. It started operating in August 2011 and its headquarters are located in Guayaquil. Its main business activities are related to the sowing and growing of teak for its ongoing crop and sale. The plantation is comprised of an area of more than 90 hectares in the Balzar canton, which were sown by using seeds brought from Costa Rica. Highforest is also engaged in the buying of land and the administration of the future wood crop.
