The economic entity started operating in May 2011 in Guayaquil, Guayas province, under the legal denomination SEPAGUA S.A. In 2013 it changed its name to La Vanguardia Forestal S.A. (VANGUARFOREST). Its main activity is related to the agricultural and fishing industries and mainly to the sowing and growing of teak for its ongoing crop and sale. The plantations are comprised of more than 250 hectares in the Palenque canton in the province of Rios. Vanguarforest is also engaged in the buying of land and the administration of the future crop of wood.
