The company was established on October 27, 1980 in Ecuador under the legal denomination Ecuaroche Farmaceuticos y Quimicos S.A. and in 1994 it changed its name to Roche Ecuador S.A., as it is known nowadays. The company's main headquarters are located at Avenida 10 de Agosto No. 36-239 and Naciones Unidas in Quito. It is part of the Roche Group, registered in Switzerland and dedicated to the production of pharmaceutical products. The main purpose of Roche is the commercialization of products produced by the Diagnostic and the Pharmaceutical Divisions. It is dedicated to the development and production of equipment that deals with the detection of diseases and the diagnosis of treatments as well as the production of medicine. Roche Ecuador has created the Diabetes Care area, dedicated to the development and sale of products for glucose measurements and insulin analysis.
