Enefit Energiatootmine AS is one of the most important producers of electrical energy in the Baltic region and the largest in Estonia. The complex consists of two power plants, both of them operated by Enefit Energiatootmine AS - Eesti Power Plant and Balti Power Plant. Together, they provide about 95% of the total power production in Estonia. The primary fuel of the two power plants is oil shale. In 2012 a wind farm was completed and is operational alongside with the shale oil production. Additionally, Eesti Energia sells the waste product of energy production - oil shale ash which is a valuable mineral raw material for the construction industry and agriculture.
