The M6 Tolna Motorway connects the towns of Dunaújváros and Szekszárd and forms part of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) program of the Hungarian State in order to connect the cities Budapest and Pécs.
The M6 Tolna Motorway Concession Ltd. has been founded in June 2008 in the course of the concession award of this 65 km Motorway to the companies Bilfinger Berger, Porr and Egis. The task of the M6 Tolna Motorway Concession Ltd. is to finance, design, construct and operate the M6 Motorway between Dunaújváros and Szekszárd. The Motorway was opened for traffic on 31 March 2010 as it was scheduled.
Following the construction the awarded concession includes the operation and maintenance of this motorway section until 2038 which will guarantee the users a safe and comfortable ride to the Cities situated along the Danube.
