MNV Zrt. (Hungary)

Magyar Nemzeti Vagyonkezelő Zrt. (MNV Zrt.) is a key background institution of the Minister of Economic Development, exercising ownership rights over nearly 16 trillion Hungarian forints worth of state assets, which is close to half of Hungary's annual GDP. The operation of MNV Zrt. is based on the Act CXCVI of 2011 on national assets, Act CVI of 2007 on state assets, and Government Decree 254/207 (X.4.) on the management of state assets. Its tasks include strategic and responsible asset management, portfolio rationalization, modern real estate management, increasing the efficiency of national companies, and preserving and growing national assets. The state assets managed by MNV Zrt. consist of companies, real estate, and movable property. Currently, we exercise ownership supervision over approximately 50 state-owned economic companies, directly exercising ownership rights in 96% of these cases. The Hungarian state is represented in various areas, including culture, agriculture, industry, environmental protection, and energy. Regarding the management of state-owned real estate, MNV Zrt.'s main task is to provide the necessary properties for fulfilling state tasks and satisfying social needs. The real estate assets consist of approximately 553,000 items, of which over 510,000 are currently used by asset management organizations. In addition to real estate management tasks, our company also deals with the management of nearly 100,000 state-owned movable assets, ranging from vehicles to musical instruments and visual artworks. Throughout responsible asset management, MNV Zrt. prioritizes efficient case handling, partnership development, transparent management, and reliable, predictable, well-thought-out, and conceptual portfolio management. As a result of MNV Zrt.'s operation, the establishment of a unified asset register framework and asset management principles has enabled professional ownership control that emphasizes economic efficiency.
