ROUST Hungary Italaru-importor es Forgalmazo Kft. is an international company based in Budapest, Hungary. It was founded in 1991 and initially focused on importing quality German beers. In 1992, the company obtained the rights to distribute Jägermeister in Hungary, which led to a transformation of its product range. Over the years, the company has shifted its focus to the distribution of internationally recognized premium spirits. It has undergone multiple changes in ownership and acquired well-known spirit brands such as Metaxa, Campari, Cinzano, Grant's whisky, Glenfiddich malt whisky, Rémy Martin cognac, Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey, Carolans cream liqueur, Cointreau, and many others. The company was previously owned by Bols Royal Distilleries, Rémy-Cointreau Group, and CEDC (Central European Distribution Company). In 2013, the Russian Standard group acquired CEDC, resulting in the company operating under the name ROUST Hungary Kft. The company has become a leading player in the Hungarian spirits market due to its outstanding business performance, brand-building expertise, and commitment to responsible alcohol consumption. It is the largest importer of distilled spirits and the second-largest distributor of distilled spirits based on annual sales. Three of its brands, Jägermeister and Metaxa, are among the top 20 brands in the Hungarian market, and seven of its brands are on the top 20 list of imported distilled spirits. ROUST Hungary Kft. is owned by ROUST Inc., which is the largest spirits producer and distributor in the Central and Eastern European region and one of the largest vodka producers globally. ROUST Inc. has representation in the United Kingdom, United States, Russia, Poland, Hungary, and Italy. Its own brand, Russian Standard, is Russia's leading premium vodka and is distributed in over 80 countries worldwide. In 2011, ROUST Inc. acquired Gancia, Italy's first artisanal sparkling wine producer, located in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Piedmont. Russian Standard Vodka was introduced in Hungary in 2013, and the Gancia Sparkling Wine family has been available in the Hungarian market since 2014.
