TEVA Gyógyszergyár Zrt. was founded in 1990 as the general successor of the BIOGAL medicine manufacturer. The parent company of the Teva group – Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE:TEVA) is a global pharmaceutical company, engaged in developing, producing and trade of generic drugs, pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company is well known for its wide product range, like painkillers, antibiotics, medicines for the circulatory and central nervous system, products for oncological, dermatological and anti-inflammatory treatment and others.
In Hungary, Teva operates in three locations – the factories in Debrecen, in Sajóbábony and in Gödöllő. They are engaged in processing of raw materials for pharmaceuticals, as well as production of solid pharmaceuticals –about 200 different active ingredients are being processed to over 500 products, sold in Europe, Canada, Israel and Asia.
