PT Berdikari Insurance is a subsidiary of PT PP Berdikari (a state owned company), which in 1968 took over the ownership of PT Asuransi Timur Jauh (a private insurance company established in 1953). According to Government Regulations No. 22/2000 since April 7, 2000, PT PP Berdikari has become an Indonesian State Owned Enterprise (BUMN) and has officially changed its name to PT Berdikari (Persero), and also has become the sole shareholder of PT Berdikari Insurance. Currently PT Berdikari Insurance has 16 branch offices and 9 marketing office units throughout Indonesia.
