PT Reasuransi Maipark Indonesia (Maipark) is a special risk reinsurance company focusing on catastrophe insurance. The journey of Maipark began when the Indonesian Government established the Indonesian Earthquake Reinsurance Pool (PRGBI) in 2003. PRGBI is a medium for the joint business of all non-life insurance and reinsurance companies in mitigating the catastrophe risk. PRGBI changed its status into a private company under the name of Pt Asuransi Maipark, and started its operation on January 1, 2004. The Company effectively changed its name into PT Reasuransi Maipark Indonesia in 2014. It was soon followed by the conversion of the business permit into a reinsurance company permit. To date, Maipark remains as a medium for the general insurance and reinsurance companies in Indonesia to contribute in ensuring the capability to mitigate the catastrophe risk of the insurance Industry in Indonesia. The Company also continues to actively participate in improving the quality and capability of the catastrophe risk insurance in Indonesia.
