Kalyani Steels Ltd (KSL) is a company located in Pune, India. It was established in February 1973 as part of the Kalyani Group, with the aim of meeting the group's internal demand for high-quality steel for forging. In the early 1990s, KSL recognized the potential for growth beyond serving internal requirements and decided to shift its base to Hospet, Karnataka. Here, they set up a world-class integrated steel mill in 1997, with a hot metal capacity of 290,000 tons per annum. This strategic move allowed KSL to tap into the growing automotive hub in the southern region of India, which was rich in iron ore resources. Kalyani Steels has continuously upgraded its technology and infrastructure over the years. Today, the company operates an integrated steel complex with a hot metal capacity of 650,000 tons per annum. The complex includes three mini blast furnaces, two rolling mills, a sinter plant, a power plant, and state-of-the-art testing facilities. The primary market for KSL's products is the forging industry in India. The company's clientele includes Indian and international component manufacturers for commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, diesel engines, bearings, tractors, turbines, and rail. KSL has also become a preferred steel supplier for the engineering, seamless tube, and aluminum-smelting industries.
