Kuantum Papers Ltd. (India)

Kuantum Papers Ltd. is a paper manufacturing company located in Saila Khurd, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. The company was established in 1979-80 with the goal of utilizing agro and wood materials to produce writing and printing paper. They aim to reduce environmental degradation by repurposing wild agro vegetations and agro-residues that were previously burned in fields. In 2008, a wood-based pulp mill was added, using only social forestry grown wood. The company has grown from producing 30 TPD (tons per day) of paper to 450 TPD, producing around 150,000 MT (metric tons) of paper annually. They generated a revenue of INR 1313 Cr in FY 22-23. Kuantum Papers Ltd. is a major employer in the region, providing livelihood to around 2500 people directly and over 10000 indirectly. Recently, the company commissioned a new Backward Integration Project to optimize plant operations and increase capacity. They have increased pulping capacity to 380 TPD, installed a chemical recovery plant with 500 TPD capacity, enhanced captive power generation to 38 MW, and established a Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) plant to ensure their paper conforms to the ECF grade.
