It was incorporated on May 26, 1999, as a private joint-stock company with a fully paid capital of 400 million Iraqi Dinar. The bank obtained its license from the Central Bank of Iraq on November 4, 1999, under the number S.A/10/9/1124, and commenced its operations on January 3, 2000. Over the past five years, the bank has increased its paid-up capital to 250,000,000,000 Iraqi Dinar (Two Hundred Fifty Billion). Currently, the bank operates eight branches, with five located in Baghdad, one in Erbil, one in Basra, and one in Najaf.
