Broad Khorasan province, which is adorned with the name of ALIEBN-E-MOOSA – AL-REZA,eight shiiet Imam, is the widest province in Iran. Having a wide range of resources, such as Iron ore sources, Natural Gas, perseverance and diligent human resources along with facilities like Roads, rail way, Power plants , etc. as well as bordering Afghanistan and Turkmenistan convince the industrial and governmental responsible and programmers that Khorasan is a suitable place for building up a steel making plant. Therefore, they set up a complete and holistic study surveying the possibility of establishing a 1.8 million ton steel making plant in the province on 1983. This sophisticated engineering and location finding study accomplished after six years and concluded to build up a steel making plant on 15Km.north – west of Neyshabour. Immediately afterward 14000000 square meters land were acquired and site mobilization as well as preparation activities were started.
On November 1996 a 152 million dollar contract for purchasing equipment were signed between NISCO ( National Iranian Steel Co.) and DANIELI & C. And on June 1997 in the presence of Mr. HASHEMI RAFSANJANI, president of the time, execution activities and installation of equipment were started.
